Aftermarket Steering Wheel Install - eliminate Airbag light
I know that on the IX and the VIII's that there was a solution for getting rid of the airbag light such as getting a certain steering wheel hub etc. Has anyone installed an aftermarket steering wheel yet on their X and eliminated the airbag light? A writeup or solution would be most helpful. Thanks in advance.

That's a pretty good idea. Romeo, if you can get access to mitchell shop key 5, the airbag resistance should be listed under airbag->troubleshooting&diagnostics->tables

Since mitchell manuals stopped making printed service manuals, they created an online system that shows maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting for every vehicle made. The full name is Mitchell Shop Key 5. I'd like to help you out by looking it up for you, but I won't be back in MD to get to the shop for another month.

And you can place it next to the ASC button on the dash board. OR you can do it where is the shifter. Actually that is easier since its just plug and play there.
You will see one wire harness with the plug connected face down on the shifter base, Whit the white plug. . That is your AWC connection to your MR button.
Connect it and use it .

how many airbag connectors are there?
typical airbag resistance is 2.0 to 2.2 ohms. for EACH airbag connector. this also works for SRS side impact and curtain bags...
simple run to radioshack or your local electronics hobby shop you can rig up one yourself.. DO NOT STICK an ohmmeter to your factory airbag leads.. it might go off due to the voltage spike in your ohmmeter.
