Oil Temp/Oil Pressure Gauges questions.

Has anyone installed an Oil Temp/Pressure or booth?

If so, what did you use to install the sensors?

Any help/Pics would be appreciated.

I am looking to install these soon, but want to compile a parts list of things I would need before hand.

Everything comes in kit for oil pressure. Then you buy this:

oil sandwich sensor. It goes above oil filter. Filter screws on it!

pm vendors that sells gauges i know they have this sandwhich..ebay has it (glow shift makes one) but idk if it fits th X . i belive majority of the sandwhiches fit 1/8 npt sensors

the only thing about the sandwhich that most people are scared about is the fact that it lowers the oil filter about a inch more closer to the ground and if something hits hit OUCH! lol

but other then that thats the only option we have so far unlike the evo 8 there was places you could tap into.

AMS just used a remote sender for my oil pressure line. I dont think I would feel safe having my oil filter a inch lower.

On an X 1 inch would not matter.

You don't need the sandwich adapter. There are two locations near the oil for oil pressure and oil temperature.

Just back the hex nuts out and screw in your sensor after you completely drain your engine oil. Do this when it's time to change the oil.

That's what I did on my Defi's

I haven't had a chance to look in my service manual, but do you have first hand experience with the X locations? I bought Defi gauges and I'm trying to figure out where to tap in for oil pressure.

I know that you don't need a adapter on IX cause I saw some how to install a oil pressure on Evo IX forum but is there anyone here install an oil pressure gauge without an adapter? Or is it posible?

For the VIII's and IX's there are 2 hex bolts on the Oil Filter Housing Assembly.
I had an VIII and this is where I used 2 adapters that I bought online, bolted right in.

On the X... I don't think the oil filter housing assembly is the same, I glanced at it briefly when I installed my Aftermarket oil cooler... and I can remember only seeing 1 hex bolt... although I could be mistaken, as this was well over 6 months ago.

As far as the sand which plate adaptor... that is the route I am going to go... I ordered it from STRI..

My car isn't my daily driver... and if I do happen to hit something, I will just relocate the filter to a different spot.
