How To: Remove LANCER Shift Knob

alright im trying to remove the shift knob on my Automatic lancer it is a lancer ES btw its black and has a sliver piece underneath. what do i do pull it off or twist it?? its really hard. im replacing the silver part below it. help ASAP i

If it's anything like the RA, you just twist.
