Homelink install
I just got my 2014 EVO and realized it doesn't have a garage door opener. Luckily, I gave my daughter for Christmas a backup camera with a new rear view mirror for her 2011 Kia Soul. The Soul came with a Homelink auto dimming mirror with a compass so I had it just sitting here collecting dust.
This model Homelink has 4 wires.
Black => ground
Dark green => constant 12v
Light brown or maybe it is pink => switched 12v
White => not used. This is probably for a thermostat
I used the dome light for the constant 12v and for the ground. I ran a wire to the fuse box for the switched 12v.
Black from Homelink => Black dome light
Dark green from Homelink => Red dome light
Light brown from Homelink => Fuse box and I used the cigarette lighter fuse
White from Homelink => Not used
Pretty easy free mod. Well, free for me because I already had the extra mirror but you can get these used pretty cheap.
