DVD in Motion Update 2012 MMCS

Step 1: Find out what version you have by doing this on your car:
1. Hold SET+NAVI for a few seconds to bring up the service menu
2. Touch "Versions Indication"
3. Note the version string for the "Loader"
IF YOUR LOADER IS BLD-NR-261UM 1.09 IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT APPLICATION VERSION YOU HAVE, USE THE 00007004 VERSION, ITS THE LATEST VERSION !!!!!
If you have EM you can update to the latest EM version on www.navhack.org
4. go to www.navhack.org (theres a donate button on the website, please be nice and donate and add your username in your comments to Otaku who made this all possible) and download the 00007004 version (it doesn't matter what application version you have, as long a you have NR261UM you can upgrade to the latest version which is 70.04) . So for my car, i have application 00.30.94, I would download NR261UM / 00007004.
5. Once you have downloaded you can use a program like 7zip or winrar (both free) to extract the file, heres a youtube video
to show you exactly how to do it..
6. Once extracted you will notice the file is now a .iso file. This can be burned by the stock program in windows 7 or you can download a program trial such as poweriso or IMGBURN (winxp/windows7 free thanks ethics).
7. Which ever you decide to use, make sure you use either a cd-r or cd-rw (I tried cd-rw and it worked). Also make sure you click on Verify data on which ever program you use. This is to make sure the integrity of the data is still good on the disc.
Once burning and verifying is complete, we're ready to go in the car!
8. (IN THE CAR) put the car in the on position, this is when you will be able to insert the cd into the drive. If burn was successful It will state "Detected a new program. Start loading?". At this time you will press yes. The MMCS will restart itself after the update has completed.
9. It will ask you once again to do the update but since we did it already we don't need to do it again. so please press no. You can now eject the disc and play dvd in motion!
I will be making a tutorial on how to unlock your mmcs to change the intro picture, add a bigger hard drive for more music, and even more!!!..(if you're up to it )

Please please please put the version you have, Otaku will need the most recent version in order to get the auto patcher to work.
Here are the things hes working on for us:
1. Dvd in motion auto patch (so you can have any version)
2. AUX video bypass (he said it's possible)

I am all for donating but I would not send a donation till have a working product or at least seen someone else with it working. Nothing against you hakmeister.

Id be down for a good donation/purchase for a working product. 41.02 I believe is mine. Im with the last post however, without the programmer on here stating his intentions and getting the paypal I would not feel comfortable with this transaction. I had pretty much given up on it because I didn't want the piggyback system and really didn't wanna go aftermarket. But id be happy to get into this.

Let me clarify the state of play - I'm pasting the content of the email conversation between myself and Hakmeister.

Um - theres really no more devving needed for releasing other versions
of the dvd-in-motion, unless they make a major subsystem change.. I
just haven't had the time, or felt the motivation to release any more..
If you want to take a collection, and upload the versions you want
done somewhere I can easily download from ( ie : no rapidshare style
subscription sites, a plain http server would be good ), I'll set
aside some time to fix them for you.
Or, I'd accept the offer of services in lieu of money if you or any of
your associates can:
1) weld stainless steel. ( must be stainless, not mild )
2) have access to rapid prototyping systems. ( SLS would be preferred,
but good resolution extrusion would work too )
3) have access to aluminium milling cnc machines.
4) can produce short-run PCBs ..
Oh, and I think I had already worked out the region-free code too, but
I can't remember if I had released it or not ..
Alternatively, If the offer is reasonable enough, I can just supply
you with a program to auto-patch any versions you want. This will work
on any version unless the "major subsystem change" I mentioned above
happens.

Thanks for clearing that up!! Id be happy to make a donation towards this. How long do you think it would take? Have you ever looked at or worked on the Chrysler Nav units, namely the 740N??

do not paypal it - work out some way to pool it, then put into the escrow service I was talking about above..
