HELP - rock chip

Hi

I cleaned my car and found that I have a rock chip on my back passinger side
fender

It's a white scrach an a small ding. It's not huge but more of a
disopointment because I have only had the car for 3 weeks.

If anyone had a rock chip and was able to remove it without
re-painting...it wold be get If you could tell me

Or if anyone in orange county, ca has anyone that could get it out for a
good price That would be great

Thanks

The scratch might come out with a little rubbing compound, followed by polishing compound. Don't know about the ding. I know it sucks when these things happen to our cars, but its the daily price to pay for DD cars. You never know what surprises lie ahead in these streets.

95% sure its not coming out. Once theyre in theyre in. I have a hellacious chip in my RR door that got there a week into owning it.

You can do what he mentioned and/or dab in some color and then clear coat. Let it sit for a little while then wet-sand it down and buff it back. Use 2000 grit sandpaper WET and a 3M cutting compound to buff back. Then go back over that with a good polish and itll be as good as its gonna get. Thats a means to go about it and not to mention those materials aren't really cheap or easy to come by unless you're a bodyshop (which I work at). That'll get it about 90% fixed. Honestly tho, its like drying your car in the rain. Part of DDing, like he said.

I have Apex Silver, and I tried to touch up a chip or two... and the metallic won't sit in the same fashion that it was sprayed when the car was built new... a non-metallic color will have better luck though... especially white or black if no metallic is present.

I find using a sealant helps big time on this paint. Calgary puts a lot of gravel on the roads in the winter and I barely have any rock chips. However I put on a couple of coats of Werkstat Acrylic Jett just before winter.
