Hood Props with aftermarket hood

Hey guys,

just installed my new hood, and was told that I shouldn't use my gas shocks because they are too strong and can distort (break) the hood. so my question is this... what is everyone using for a hood prop. I still have the stock rod, but don't like it and want something nicer.

Thanks in advance.

What material is your after market hood made of? Some people with fibre glass hoods find that it bows a little, or distorts at the mounting points. And some people don't find anything. Really I would say it depends on the quality of the material. I would say go for it and keep an eye on the hood, look for any distortions or cracks, if you see something, remove it. Maybe someone else has some input.
