My friend has the Megan in his 06 STI, after few thousands miles, the clunking noise came out. He was very frustrated and call Megan for help. Megan sent parts out for him to replace and the noise were still there.

When it comes to suspension, you really want to save $$ for some real good setup, especially for car like evo, even if you don't track the car.

I am going with Robispec setup, he has setup for evo X too. if you think it's too much $ then don't buy anything until you have the $.

Been through a set of Megans and a set of BC type BR on my old Evo.

From my experience, they're good when new but wear out fast. After 10K miles, the ride is noticably different. At 15-20K, the shocks are done and you'd need new ones.

I'd say the BC Type BR is better than the Megans... both from the same manufacturer but the BC was slightly more durable and less road noise.

Megan's are not made by BC...

Far as I know BC, Megan and apexi and several others are made by D2

Robi spec KW's are way to go. little bit more money but they ride so well... ZEAL's are nice too. (just have robi set them up.)

I think you have BC confused with Buddy Club.

Bor Chuan (not Buddy Club) makes Megan, Apexi ExV, Buddy Club (low end line - not the Racing Spec) and their own BC Racing line.

I don't think D2 is made by BC because the casing design is not like the others.

I mean Bor Chuan (NOT Buddy Club)

Take a look at current line of D2 vs Bor Chuan vs megan Apexi and etc. They look identical.

I can't say who, but I got it out of some one workign apexiIIII (I said those look awfully like d2 and he didn't deny it)LOL

Plus. D2 make custom speck for lot of these mfg too. so there could be different variation of coilovers.

Either way. there aren't true JDM made stuff any more.

But again, maybe they change the MFG company. who knows at this point.

D2 are noticeably worse then Megan or BC. It's a whole different level IMO.

We've removed a set of D2's from a customer's car that was so bad it's not even funny.

There's only so many ways a montube 2 way height adjustable short travel coilover can look.

IIRC someone found that the same company (Tiawan) that makes Apex'i's $1600 coilovers also make the Megans $900 coilovers.

I'd have to look for the thread on who found it.

.

If you aren't tracking the car, why would you waste any money on suspension?
