Pad replacement procedure

Hey guys,

I'm getting close and the sqeaks are killing me, I have the Girodisc shims waiting to go in.

My question is that the tech manual states that the pad replacement can be performed on the vehicle. They call for a special tool named "piston expander (Special tool: MB990520)"

Has anyone found a substitute expander tool (or homemade tool) to perform pad replacements on vehicle without removing the caliper?

Yeah, kinda figured, just didn't want to scratch up the calipers.

Thanks!

Girodisc Piston Spreader.

Works with almost any caliper and makes a great community tool.

Can be found in our EVO X Full Product Lineup.
