Hankook RS3 or Federal 595RS-R
I've been looking at tires for my evo lately... and stuck between the two. I drive my car a couple of days a week at best and I dont care if my tires only last 8k miles. I just want a good bang for my buck performance tire that has a lot of grip. If you have any feedback on either tire, or both please let me know.
My only other concern is I would like to get 265-35-18s. I understand that the 595RS-R runs a little wider than other tires... do they still fit without rolling the fenders or anything like that? If they are too wide I could always go with 255s.
Thanks

I don't know the answer, but I know that you left out a critical piece of information: the offset of the wheels. People won't be able to help you unless you say what your offset is and/or ask what offset you'll need to get to make it work. You should also throw in wheel width.

I run the RS3s in the 265/35/18 on a Very similar sized wheel, 18x9.5 20mm offset, and I had to roll my rears mildly and I'm on Swift Spec-R springs. It only rubbed under hard cornering, though. I can't stress enough how much grip these tires have, I've driven on a handful of 200 wear tires such as Falken RT615s, Direzzas Star-Specs, Potenza Re070s, etc. These have ALOT more grip then them, and are actually cheaper than the Dunlops. With my current suspension setup its handles absolutely fantastic, and plus the 265s give it a nice mean stance from the rear. Also I've had them on almost 2k miles and drive pretty aggressively and they are wearing very good so far, plan to get around 10k or so, not bad for a 140 treadwear rating.

Ever take a look at these?
Monster grip and good enough wet traction to be an intermediate (.84gs in the wet is no joke. Neither is well over a g in the dry).
Better than either of your options IMO
Tests done on 235 width tires
FAST FACTS : Goodyear RS Sport
Dry Cornering: 1.04g
Dry Braking 80-20 km/h: 1.65 sec in 23m
Average g: 1.03g
Peak g: 1.10g
Wet Cornering: 0.84g
Wet Braking 80-20 km/h: 2.12 sec in 29m
Average g: 0.80g
Peak g: 0.83g
Rolling Resistance: 0.0258g (average)
Weight: 11.5-kg

can you even buy Federal 595RS-R in the states. I was searching for these tires cause I heard its popular overseas for motorsports but couldnt find a distributor that actually carries these tires. But I do have the Hankook rs3 and they are awesome tires.

The Goodyear RS Sports are not really a street use tire, probably deadly in the rain.
I've had great success with the Hankook R-S3 tires and running -2.5* front and -2.0* rear they seem to wear quite good. They probably have softer sidewalls than some performance tires but setup your suspension correctly and they feel close to R compounds compared to other "extreme" tires out there.
The Dunlop Starspecs are good all around tires, will last longer, and have better wet traction, but less dry traction as a tradeoff. If you over drive them on the track they also tend to overheat and get greasy, but that is more driving style.
