How long on stock axles?

How long can the stock axles last on my X if its being launched a couple times minimum a month. I know howto launch an awd car but lately i have been just about dumping the clutch to make it spin on my launches due to still having the stock clutch, slipping burns it up to quick.

The entire drivetrain will take a lot of abuse if launched properly. The first thing to wear out will be your clutch. It's pretty rare to hear of axle failures, especially on lower power setups.

Good to know. Yes i know my clutch will be gone eventually. Ive launched it 10 times so far. Still going strong as new. Do you recommend any cheap clutches until i have the funds for a twin disc once i go FP black?

Mitsubishi, in their near-infinite wisdom, included a very special feature to protect the rear axles if and when the car is launched hard. It's called the transfer case. tee hee

X transfer case is generally stronger than the X rear differential

Is the competition stage 4 too much? And is the competition steel flywheel a good buy?

That stage 4 would be a real beast to daily-drive, I personally don't recommend anything beyond the Stage 3 for daily-driving. For anything under 500whp the Stage 2 has proven to be very durable for drag-launching.

The CCI flywheel is a good choice; quality & affordable.

Thanks for your input! I want something thats able to withstand several awd launches without burning up! I will not be in the 500s for awhile. I think stage 3 should due me well just to be safe.

Read this thread just to make sure you're confident the Stage 3 is a better choice for you than the Stage 2: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ve...-alt-hdss.html

It doesn't matter to me either way, I just want to make sure you're getting the clutch that best suits your needs!
