HPS are pretty good street pads. They might be a bi noisier than the stoptech street performance. But they won't as bad as the HP plus.

HPS are good pads they have good initial bite and can take some hard stops and they are pretty durable. I will say they can be a tad squeaky every now and then.

I've had to drive on the street with Hawk DTC-60s and CL RC5s. Other than noise, they were fine. I didn't notice any decrease in performance when cold, but I'm in CA if it matters. I've never had to warm them up before using.
I'd assume the STs would be the same?

I currently run Carbotech XP12's on my EVO. 1600 degree pads that DO NOT eat rotors cold.

Another great pad is the Porterfield R4's both of these pads have great progressive feedback during threshold breaking, squell like stuck pigs cold and throw tons of dust...But safe for street use...

YMMV

Can attest to ST43s dusting and squeeling like crazy but stopping fantastic. I'm looking to change mine out for DS2500s for an autox pad with very occational street use.

I love my DS2500's on the street. Minimal dust and no squealing.

I'm OK with a little noise as long as they get the job done. I have Porterfield R4S (completely different brake setup) right now and I'm very happy with their performance. The car will never see a track most likely, just some heavy highway horseplay. I think it will work out. Thanks for the input.

Hah, yeah thats basically same as my experience with the ST43s and oem backing plates. With no backing plates was even worse.

e_kobz, good to hear the improvement on ds2500s. Need to get those orders soon.
