Tranny and xfer case fluid

Just curious what tranny fluid and xfer case fluid everyone is using. I used gm synchromesh in my 1 and 2g dsm's. And has anyone had any problems with their trannys in the 03 evo. Synchro grinds etc? I know that I have a 2nd gear synchro grind but its like occasional. It can be when i shift at a slow speed or shift out of the hole when driving the car hard.

NEO RHD in the front and rear diff's, NEO HD in the trans, and NEO high temp brake fluid. 2 years of drag, track, autocross, and street use with excellent results (no failures).

I think people are just tired of starting a new thread for old stuff. Try searching.. there are several good threads which will help you.

Personally, i went from stock, to redline, to gm synchromesh in the tranny.. 2nd grinds maybe 1 time a month. Synchromesh is the best though.

xfer case. .. i went from stock, to redline, back to stock. I read too many posts saying redline was too thin in there... so i went back to stock.

12k miles.. 10 months old.. no problems on my 2003

good luck

Supposedly, you can use synchromesh in the front tranny but the transfer case and rear diff use only the stock mitsu fluid (diaqueen). Rear can be changed with an equivalent weight/viscosity fluid but stay with stock on the transfer case because it seems like a lot of people have destoryed theirs by switching.

I switched from the stock fluid to Redline (appropriate viscosity for both Tranny and TC) on my 30k service (40k on the car now). I will probably switch back to the stock fluid though, the Redline is just too thick.

The only stories I've heard with people blowing up their TC with different fluid are those who drag race their EVO. I don't drag race (for that exact reason), and have had no problems with the different fluid.
