On DSMs there was a coupler people disconnected that would allow you to do this. The reasoning was to avoid putting any stress on the thrust bearing when there was little oil in the system during cold start-up to try to avoid crankwalk on 2G's. Evos don't seem to have this problem, I never did it on my car because of safety reasosn just in case someone else ever had to move or drie my car. Maybe you can crawl around under there and find the same wire on an evo.

I don't think disconnecting it is a good idea, but see what you can find.

Unplug one of the plugs that attach to the clutch pedal. Cant remember if its the upper or lower. Wouldnt recommend it though.

The clutch switch provides a ground for the starter relay holding coil. So, pull the plug and insert a jumper.

Next, create a new exit to your garage when you forget.

down behind the clutch youll see a button that the clutch press's. just unplug that.. its very easy to see and do.

if ya have a turbo timer, ya get use to it.. cant leave the car in gear with the turbo timer.

cheers!

Why would you want to do this? Just curious.

im use to not pressing the clutch in and i drive my little sister to school every morning, she's 9, so she'll go sit in the car for a min and wait for me if im not ready yet. she likes putting on the race harness and that takes her a few min to set up.

so she can start the car without getting into my seat. she knows better than to get into the driver seat.

thats my main reason

My IX SE already starts without putting the clutch in, and I didn't do anything to make it that way.

That's awesome. Letting a 9 y.o. get in and start a car unattended, with a safety feature defeated. Hopefully you won't end up on the nightly news.
