so i have a stock 06 evo 9 the gains in power are mostly by changing that taper doun to 14 . i want like 22 all the way. is it necessary to change head studs and rod bolts to run 22 psi on stock block???

I dont understand what you are saying about the boost taper. You want "like 22 all the way" ? Where did you come up with that number? I have an 8 with the 10.5 hotside, and I have been running 25 psi, tapering down to 20, for well over 100,000 miles on a stock block. So, no, it is not necessary. Do I WANT head studs? Sure do. -s

You'd be surprised how much power the stock head studs can take. Even at 30psi daily I have yet to lift the head. Seems the a real good way to make the head lift is get a bunch of knock going. I suppose there is some crazy cylinder pressure the head will lift at but I haven't reached it.
