New PNW Memeber

Hello all, my name is Jake. I own a 2006 Evolution SSL. I purchased the car back in May 2015. I thought I took my time and got the Evo I wanted. I purchased her with 90,327 on the clock. The mod list was as follows, Invidia exhaust manifold, Invidia down pipe back, Torque Solution solid mounts, poly bushings, Apexi AVC-R, Injen IC pipes, ACT clutch, EVO Prosport boost, egt, oil pressure gauges.

A month later I had transfer case bolts falling out while driving. The shop was suppose to repair my ACD tcase whine before pickup. They swapped it with non ACD. I was a little upset, but I did not do another once over before signing the AS IS paperwork. I could have brushed this off, but then the issues started. Gauges would go in and out until the sensors decided to quit reading. Third and fifth gear started grinding, all of this less than a month after purchase. This is all funny, until the knock knock jokes started.

I finally got around to ordering parts for the car, so tear down began. I found the bearings to be shot and in need of a rebuild. I considered all paths I could have chosen, 2.0 - 2.4 I have since made up my mind, but we will leave that for the build thread.

Thank you all for the good reads and incredible amount of information!

Hi Jake

Welcome & great to have you join the conversation on EvOM

EvO looks clean, but I see you had an issue w/the T-case Ive often thought if my ACD pump fails I would rather swap the T-case for a non ACD just to simplify the set-up

If you ever need help w/Wheel / tire setup, give us a shout in the Wheels, tires & brake forum. We have a strong group of experienced owners there as well as the other forums.

Thank you for the welcome! I wouldn't have minded the swap of I was informed. However, I paid full price for a car with missing options. First and last car from a dealer. 😂😂 wheels and tires will actually be soon. I will definitely be over there!

Looks like a crank shaft. The engine build has begun

Way to go Jake!

Correct! Few other parts as well! Full bottom end. I'm excited for the orders that will be placed soon! These recent beautiful days are giving me an itch for some back roads and shoots! Thanks for the encouragement!

My crank had light score marks, I did not want to reuse it. I plan on being 600+ to the wheels as well.
