First time on this site...as I have the means to buy a car now. I was actually excited to hear recaros won't be available. I was hoping height adjustable seats at least, as I'm not the tallest driver (5"4'). I have always wanted an evo, but recently started to look at the new vw r. I sort of grew out of the racer style type of car love the look(especially MR), but not thrilled on the seats.

sounds like the 2015 evo would be perfect for you then.

If the price is still going to be the same with such features removed, I don't think the lancers/evos will be selling as well as they used to. But it is a last year to make production. I mean, at least decrease the price so people can buy the cars.

According to Mitsubishi's website, 2015 GSR starts at $34,495, the MR starts at $38,995.

I'm gonna call my shot now and say the mythical SAM will get 295HP, 305lb torque, offered in MR trim only for $48k and go on sale 06/15. Just being pessimistic so I can hopefully be pleasantly surprised later. I put my Evo buying plans on hold until more SAM info comes to light.

There isn't going to be a sam, so don't worry.

I also find it funny that they reduced the price $500, probably to kind of account for losing recaros. The base cloth gsr seats are $1800 a pop new from the mfr. Figure the new crap seats will still cost around $800, which means you're losing ~$1500 right off the bat.

Its a shame really they cant even muster up something special for a final year.

My dreams.

No MR OR GSR option only a SE
6 speed manual transmission as the only choice
440hp and at least 380torque
All leather interior
Sunroof
All premium options.
MR BBS rims
Individual numbered plates

If they offered that, and especially as the only option, that would probably price around 50k. No thanks. Evos are supposed to be cheap stripper performance cars, not "nice" cars.

Haha I just had this conversation with my Dad last weekend. I went down to a local mitsu dealership to look at a WW X GSR they had. I've been considering trading in my current daily driver for a X, plus owning a IX and a X would be a dream come true for me. Anyways so we get to the dealer and the X I wanted to see was in the show room. Well parked next to it was a Cosmic Blue GSR. My Dad fell in love with it on the spot. He looks at me and says should I trade my WRX for this (he owns a 2012 WRX hatch). First thing I say is why don't you sit in it and get a feel for it. Now I'm 6'0" about 190, 34 inch waist and these seats are snug on me. My Dad is also 6'0" weighs about 225 with a 36 waist. As soon as he got in he got back out and said yeah that's not going to work and just like that the love was no more. All his other vehicles have horrible seats. Sierra 2500HD has a bench seat. Z06 Corvette has horrible seats, not supportive at all for a 505hp sports car. His WRX has decent seats.

Thank you for contacting us with your email inquiry regarding the seating on the 2015 Evo. You are correct! The 2015MY seat will be same as regular Lancer GT. The reason the Recaro seat was eliminated for 2015 was this seat type could no longer meet new government regulations relative to seat airbag requirements

total fail just seen those lancer gt seats - my 2000 ford focus seats were better then this.. I want to buy evo but this seats a total failure
