Mitsubishi Evo to be replaced with a high-performance hybrid SUV

they are not really credible anymore in predictions... last time it was diesel hybrid, now its an SUV hybrid. They prolly weight down their blunder by next corporate meeting.
My honest belief is that they are trying to bank more on PHEV's SUV's atm, without trying to refocus the attention to sedan or other "lesser corporate models".
Last time I was talking with some guys that were on meetings in Japan, they told me that albeit being corporate secret new Lancer(non-Evo) is supposed to be ready for MY2016, while evo is probably even more kept secret, since nobody says a word, not denial of ending the line nor approval of next gen. Guess we need another evo rally.

wait Tokyo guys, its right behind the corner, if they repeat that there, they will prolly seal it. This is 5th speculative forecasting by Mitsubishi execs and like every other before it, it didn't make no sense nor refer to any other forecast beforehand. Mitsubishi will try to bank on SUV's/Utes but they will not abandon sedans, all I know is that they surely will not develop D segment Sedans/SW's(Galant) or any other types of vehicles, they will borrow that if they decide so.

I just saw this on Car and Driver.

It seems credible to me. Really disappointing.

They can be profitable even with EVO on table, not making savings by cutting it(even tho it shares the platform with 70% of mitsubishi's current lineup), its really a bad time to cut off sportscar, especially as they are on rise.
