2017 Lancer? Really?

I wonder if this new lancer Gts will have future aftermarket parts to have it an EVO X?
Just by looking at the specs it's 168 hp. OK This is non turbo I'm guessing?
They say it's has 4b11 engine? So this GT 2.0L with manual transmission(paddle shifters I think) going for 22,495? And it's all wheel drive.
My main question is this. Would you save money buying this 2016 lancer for 22 stacks and hopefully modifying to make into 2014 EVO X ?
I think I rather go buy '14 EVO X instead of buying this new ugly Lancer.

The GT and the AWD both come with the 2.4L engine. No one makes a turbo kit for the 2.4, at least that I am aware. You can get the 2.0 in the base model however.

Evolution Gt-R sounds good to me. They could sell a decent amount of updated Evo's, no matter which tech they use or update. The GT-R is too expensive for most enthusiasts.

I like the fact Mitsu offers all wheel drive on 4 door sedan. You don't see Honda Civics going all wheel drive. I just want to see the car manufacture business going all wheel drive on all sedans.
Lol you gotta think if more new car technology comes out, it eventually lead to NO freedom on driving. Cars will be programmed to drive itself. You don't want that. Trust...

Here's one link that talks about Nissan owning rights to some of the cars that Mitsubishi makes. It doesn't say what technology they'll be using for the Evo but it does state that they own the rights to it now so it could be making a comeback

What I wish would happen Nissan tells Mits. to build Evo XI it gets back Recaros and Nissan dumps AYC and SWAC calling the ATTESA E TS system "more advanced" (I personally don't like either give me an evo 8 w/ACD and an ACD controller) Nissan then ads direct injection and some hp and 38k base price EVO XI
What will probably end up happening is that Nissan will keep the Evo nameplate so Mits. doesn't get any wild hairs to compete with the GTR ala 400 hp from a 4b11 and 4 motors in an HEV setup pulling 107 more hp= 507 hp GTR killer

It's not that Nissan owns "the Evo name" it's that they own Mitsubishi entirely. Kind of odd that 34% stake means ownership in Japan but that's the way it is. The thing is why would Nissan bring back the Evo when it's a close competitor of their 370Z (or whatever Z they're working on next). I guess they could price it around $50,000-$60,000 and have it fill a small niche market between the Z and the GT-R but it doesn't make a lot of business sense.

The 2017 Lancer is just the same old car with a mild refresh. They didn't have enough money to do anything more than that. The hope now is that with Nissan-Renault behind them they can develop a credible entry into the market. But the Sentra is lame too, even if you have the money it doesn't necessarily translate into success because right now the Corolla and the Civic rule the market and the 3, the Elanta and Forte crowd the segment and make it hard for anybody else to compete.
