Question "Service Engine Soon" light question

My SES light came on right at 30925 miles. The dealer (Cerritos Mitsubishi) claimed it had to do with a cat programming recall, but they didn't have the update, yet. Their explanation didn't make a whole lot of sense. Also, I have an aftermarket cat on my car. They did reset the SES light, but after about 150 miles it came back on.

Can anyone shed some light on this or has anyone else had this issue. I searched the threads but I might have missed it. Also, can anyone recommend a good dealer or service shop near Torrance, CA. I'm not too inpressed with the folks over at Cerritos.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Did the dealership give you the code? Without that were just guessing here. Get it scanned at Autozone or any other place that lets you scan it for free then report the code back to us.

I should be able to get the code later on today.

All I have right now is the cause for the light is listed as "defective cat". There is a recall for the cat manifold, which I'm assuming is the downpipe, and the required software update is not available at this time.
