FC datalogit com port error
Hi,
I just purchased fc datalogit type x for my power fc.
My laptop doesnt have a serial port, so I purchased a serial to com port adapter/converter from radio shack.
When I open fc datalogit, the first prompt I recieve Is error opening com 1. I click OK, then the fc datalogit page pops up.
When I click read all, I am prompted with "com port not open!"
what is wrong with my setup?
FC datalogit users are allowed into a user group, but it takes 24-48 hours after email is sent and Im trying to get this thing going sooner than later.
please help if you've ever encountered a similar situation.
thanks
Cara

com port not open is different to "interface not responding"
i would suggest trying it on a system that has a true serial port
that way you can confirm the datalogit is ok, your FC is ok and the cable is ok.
i tried a usb dongle and it didnt work too well, serial works first shot every time
its mainly cos its buggy visual basic code

I simply wasnt choosing the proper port in fc edit.
simply went to setup dropdown menu, then port, then chose a port till it worked.
5 seemed to work for me, but there are ports 1-16
