Stroker pistons on stock crank?
I need some help from the EVO community. I just purchased a new set of pistons from wiseco. They are 86mm set for a 2.3 stroker EVO. I was told that they would work fine on my 88mm standard stoke eagle crank and scat rods. Is that a problem with the cyclinder+piston height? Will I need a re-tune because the piston sits below the cyclinder openening? Any help would get around the bend. Should I just return the pistons for a set of 86mm in a stock stroke trim? Yes the block is going to be bored with the pistons.

Most stroker pistons have the wrist pin moved up in the piston for a better ratio. I would think using stroker pistons with out the stroker crank would be less then optimal and could possibly cause some serious problems. Send them back and get the correct pistons.

Postives? Sure, the lower compression height will give you a more stable piston, but one that wont hold up as well to boost. Plus, there's that whole, you now have a compression ratio around 6:1...so go ahead and run 80 lbs of boost!!!!!!!!
