Question Help! Rough Idle and no boost!

Hello! My name is Michael and I have a question for all you guys. Recently I had put a 7163 borg warner turbo kit on my evo 8 pushing 500 whp. I made a mistake with this by keeping stock internals. A few months after I had spun a bearing.

6 months later and an empty wallet, I got my car running again, with Manley Rods and JE pistons, stage 3 head, and a machined block and head. Turned the boost up to 33 lbs.

Car was running great, now im having a problem and I don't know what is causing it.

While my car is moving at idle (in neutral coasting), the RPMs bounce between 1 and 2 thousand. Then when I come to a complete stop, The RPMs hang right at 2k.

While im in high boost, past 5k RPMs, the engine sputters and does not give full power.

I have heard these problems could be a vacuum leak, boost leak, bad EGR solenoid or spark plugs. Please help!!

Do you smell gas? Have you sprayed carb cleaner around the seals and lines?

You don't always see them, is the only reason i ask. I've had a couple that looked fine until i actually pressurized them.

Good luck, man. I hope you figure it out! I'll be checking mine soon, too.

The majority of the time a leak happen only after the system is pressurized. You can't "SEE" the cut/crack in rubber/silicon lines easily.
