Need a re tune?

HI, so I recently purchased an Evo 8MR in Georgia. The car is currently running a straight 3' turbo back with a Works exhaust system. Since I brought the car to California, I would need to put in a cat or at least a high flow one. Would I need to get it re tuned if I put in a ETS hi flow cat and a different cat back with the same diameter as the previous exhaust that it was already tuned for?

Shouldn't need much but if it were my car I would certainly send my tuner some logs and have them dial it in for me.

Hi Anthony

Welcome to EvOM Glad to have you join us

My tuner taught me this. Any change in the intake / exhaust / fuel etc would require a re-tune. I agree w/the post above that the difference my be small but be aware if youre pushing your 4G63 hard!!!

BTW, Most of us Calif EvO's are running straight 3" (No CAT)

I would be more concerned with the difference in fuel. I know California only has 91oct, if it was tuned in Georgia on 93oct that could cause problems. Just to be on the safe side I would have a tuner at the very least look at the logs.

You're going to need to be retuned due to difference and fuel, and installing a cat.
