Question evoscan for evo 8 and impreza ?

Hi

I'm looking to buy evo scan mainly for my evo 8 but would be handy if it worked for my 2007 wrx aswell
I'm looking at the 1.3u cable which as far as i can tell should work with both cars but could someone confirm this before i spend my cash please ?

I need the ability to read error codes and data log on both cars but would like the option to tweak with ecu on both later down the line....

I'm aware these types of questions probably come up a lot but not much for covering both vehicles...

Thanks
Dave

When looking on the evoscan site it says pin 9 is needed for the evo but must be pulled out for the impreza. I got the impression this pin isnt able to be removed then put back again ?

Thanks
Dave.

Then modify it so pin 9 has a quick disconnect!

Ok ill look this up on google see if this has been done before... without seeing the cable i had no idea if this was possible (sealed unit) hence why i started this thread... sorry if it put you out although this is a chat style forum so didn't think it would be such a big deal .

thanks again for the replies i really do appreciate it.
Dave.

EvoScan will work for many cars, but the cables are specific. a 1.3 cable is reasonably priced, especially used, so I'd just get one for each car.

yeah that would be the best option but i lost my job 3 months ago and have been delivering takeaway food since to pay the bills lol so money is quite tight right now...nnot helped of course by the fact that i bought both cars on finance only a few months before getting laid off ... every penny counts right now.
Also ill have to use my credit card to buy the cable so buying used isnt really an option...

Thanks
