wow good video. my pedal was 2.5 turns out of adjustment.
my clutch has always grabbed at the top of the travel.
IDK if that is normal or not for an evo. but im going to bleed the slave tomorrow just because. ive never bled it in my ownership. but i know it has been done before since it came with a braided slave line.

Engagement at the top of the travel is a good thing. Many people with clutch drag probably wish they had the amount of travel you have.

Would the new quarter master twin 8-leg be good for a 800whp evo? i plan on shifting at 9500rpm for drag use.

It's a good clutch for high RPM shifting, but that's about it. The unit will eat your drive-train and be a total PITA to drive on the street and launch consistently. At that HP level, it's hard to find a friendly clutch.

As much as I hate to say it, Exedy twin seems to be the best bet at this time. My brother has an 800hp 4G64, 2.4L EVO 8 using that clutch these days and he really likes it. It gives him the best street performance while still able to hold the power without issue. He drives his EVO every day and it stall has everything including AC. Pretty nice setup.

He likes the Exedy twin a lot now due to the fact that you can get parts to rebuild them and it's easier to drive on the street with less noise. Many of my customers seem to be of the same opinion too.

I would recommend Carbonetic as we have had very good luck with them, but at this point the support for them in the US is completely gone, so we can't use them anymore...

I thought the exedy twin can only hold between 500-580 ft-lb of torque? Unless u r mistaking it for the triple?

No, the triple is junk. I'm talking about the HD twin. It holds 800 just fine.

@jackstransmissions when u use the e-brake during a launch, does it prolong the drivetrain life compared to launching solely off the clutch pedal?

Pre-loading makes things a bit easier on the drive-train as you are not shocking the system so much. The negative to that is you are heating up the clutch very quickly and will warp your pressure plate/floaters in short time. So either way damage is going to be caused to something, unfortunately.

this thread gave me the info to solve all of my clutch/trans issues. my exedy twin definitely sticks at idle, it definitely drags, and i definitely have a hard time getting into 4th gear at high RPM.

Better the clutch than the rest of the drivetrain right? Especially if u can rebuild your clutch for cheaper then when you 1st bought it.
