whats up guys, so i driving around the other day when 5 0 pulls up stating my exhaust is to loud and gives me a ticketm i have rrm header test pipe and dc sports cat. i want to knw can i fight the ticket if not how much is it??? also he didnt use a db meter can i mention that in court

In Illinois, any modification to the exhaust system of a car is considered illegal. If you are replacing the muffler it needs to be replaced with something equivalent to factory. Better look up the laws in New York and see what it states about exhaust modifications.

damn that sucks, i have the magnaflow catback and no problem, not sure if you could fight that, from what ive read in ny exhaust mods could get you a ticket no matter what

go to a shop, get a receipt saying you got it fixed and take it to court and def mention about the db meter

It's the combination of a header and test pipe that make it loud. Put the stock exhaust manifold and cat on and it'll be quiet and just as fast.

yeah i would take off the test pipe, usually test pipes are for off road use only. And could cause problems with getting a inspection done, but RRM offers it with the bung hole for your o2 sensor to eliminate CEL and the headers also have the CEL elimination. I'd advise you to read your driving rule book. it should tell you what they don't allow on cars.

i live in ny too (manhattan)..and 5-0 here love giving tickets for exhausts man, to the poitn where ive been holding off on getting one in hopes that i see the trend og ticketing exhausts lowers a bit..

my best friend has a civic coup with a Greddy exhaust and we got stopped one time and he got ticketed, he tried to fight it, but really there was nothing he could do and had to wind up paying it..

yea in ny cops go after hondas like crazy, im surprised you got one but you should fight it def., theres mad ricers out here with their crazy loud exhausts, ive had my magnaflow for already like 4-5 months and ive never even been worried about that.

NYC cops are getting worse with the exhaust thing... I got pulled over in my EVO for my AMS TBE by the same friggin cop.....when I got pulled over the cop was like put a silencer in there and you'd be fine...

years ago they wouldnt bother, but it looks like now they are going after anything and everything that seems to have a loud exhaust.

Its basically a fix it ticket. go to a mecanic that knows you and have a repair order written up....show that to the judge, plead guilty, act nice and all, and they'll dismiss you.

If you decide to plead not guilty in court, argue with the judge and the cop and lose the case, you will have to pay a fine.

By the way, my 2nd exhaust ticket was dismissed by mail..... knock on wood....

Wow its news to me cops in NYC go after hondas with loud exhaust.Only fix it ticket is a tail light/headlight all others you have to go to court.i could say i know because im on the other side.

I have a TRUST Ti-R full titanium catback exhaust combined with a DC Sports downpipe/no cat.....And luckily I haven't gotten pulled over for a loud exhaust here in the Dallas, TX. area. Maybe it's because I'm not loud enough, even though I think I'm very loud.....hmmmmm...
