2011 Lancer ES - Turbo?

I just got a lancer ES Turbo And Believe me i got a steal on it compared to any other version of the lancers got it brand new for 13.8 with tinted windows, now i have been slowly upgrading it since i got it about 2 months ago, i have been looking into puting a turbo into this car, but i want to build it custom piece by piece over time because the kit by RRM is overpriced underpowered and will not smog in california, which is a waste of time for me but if i am able to use an X turbo or a RA turbo than this will smog, get enough power, and if put together slowly save me some money, no i made a post of this before but someone told me to just look around, well i have been for a few weeks now and no one is giving any kind of direct answer in any forum if this is possible and if it is i would need the parts necessary and if known the actual part #s

i appreciate anyones help in this and please no answers to just redirect me to another thread that doesnt answer my specific questions

thank you

so you got a lancer ES Turbo, and want to turbo a turboed car? what? you dont have any specific questions. look around all the threads on here, theres a lot of information. Also, if you dont even know what parts you need to turbocharge a car, dont turbocharge a car.

lol you arent wasting anyone's time really, but like i said, if you lack the knowledge of what a turbo kit even consists of, it would be a bad idea to turbocharge your car. just sayin...

well i lack the knowledge but im going to be having my mechanic put these things in i just want to find each piece and make a kit myself, it just seems like all the kits out there are very expensive and not that great from what i see i need

-turbo
-intercooler
-oil cooling lines
-manifold
-intake

i know theres more but my problem is i dont have part #s and i dont know how to find stock part #s after i had been looking so long

you dont need part numbers. thats the point. there is no "number" for a turbo kit. you need to know what you need to turbocharge it correctly, and then find that stuff for sale on the forums (since you want to save money). You should go online and do research on turbochargers and turbo kits before attempting (or having your mechanic attempt) this install.

When building turbo car you cannot get following three things together.

Cheap, Fast, and Safe

Cheap+Fast=Unsafe
Safe+Fast = Not cheap
Cheap+safe= Not Fast

My .02 is do your research and dont be cheap when it comes to parts.

Hi

I had a 2012 SE and i wanted to put in a turbo and EVERYONE told me not to because :

it's front wheel drive and they are not good for turbo's
The engine components (internal) are not strong enough to support the extra power. you would have to change everything in there.

and like villero1834 said there are tons of external parts to change to.

not very cost effective.

just be warned if you do not change the internal workings of teh engine you can blow it sky high

That was what i was told....... so i traded it for a RA :P wahoooooooooo

How much of the internals need to be changed? Seeing as there are three motors like the 4b10 4b11 and 4b12. Two of which don't have any internal mods yet/ever.

Has anyone got a build thread on a 4b12 whos not blown it up?
