iPod/Standard Audio jack hookup ?
ok so im def a newbie in the audio stuff but im trying to learn and build a small simple system. What ive started with is an Eclipse CD3434 headunit. Did all the wiring and install myself and it looks and works great. Now my question is is there anyway to attach a hookup for an Ipod or any other mp3 player that uses a standard audio jack ? I know i have a harness from the back of the unit thats all RCA jacks thats unused. I believe thats intended for an amp correct ? Is there anyway to use those connections to attach a harness to a standard audio jack ? Like i said i dont know much so any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does your headunit have any auxillary input jacks on the back? If it does, it's pretty easy to just buy the attachment to have RCA-inputs. Those other RCA jacks, I believe, are only for output. Usually, it's just a one-way street with those.

Your Eclipse Headunit may have the ability to add an aux input with an optional adapter, it works on most models with the cd changer controls. It is called the AUX105 adapter and it turns the changer port into an auxillary input. Not positive if yours is compatible but probably is.
