Wiring/Installation for new system

I am going to be installing 2 alpine door speakers, new head unit, new amp, and moving stock door speakers to back of my 2002 lancer.

I have never installed a system but I am wondering if I need to connect any wiring for the amp while im installing the HU or speakers?

Or can i just install the speakers and head unit first and then just wire up the amp after?

Also, I haven't bought any wiring at all... What do i need? I will probably ask wherever I buy the wiring but I would love advice.

Thanks peoples!

I would personally run all my wiring first to the location of the amp, mount the speakers, install the headunit and then the amp last. as far as the type of wiring you should use for the amp it depends on how many watts the amp is and everything. As far as speaker wire just dont buy it from walmart or anyplace like that lol, the wire depends on how much u feel like paying, and weather u want good wire or decent... thats my opion...

Thanks

make sure to get high quality RCA's. dont want alot of engine noise. When i did mine, i ran all wires as previous lancerchica suggested.....make sure you run power on driver side, rca's on passenger.

i used 4 gage for the power, but it depends on wattage also, try and post specs of amp and if you are doing just amps to sub, or a full amp to speaker kit also

yeah rear stock speakers are blown...

AMPLIFIER: Kenwood KAC-6201 350 W max

(60 x 2 RMS at 4 ohms)

(75 x 2 RMS at 2 ohms)

(don't know difference but those are specs)

SPEAKERS: Alpine SPR-17LS 350 W max (70 RMS)

Probably going to run it at 60 RMS at 4 ohms...

Running back speakers off of head unit. (22 x 4 RMS head unit)
Will that blow the 15W stock speakers in the back??? or is there a way to turn it down

I would advise installing the amp under either the passenger or driver's side seat. My amp kept overheating in the trunk so I moved it under the passenger seat and installed my speaker amp under the driver's seat....no problems since. Your wiring harness should have a remote switch wire on it so you might want to run the remote wire from the HU to where the amp will be. Big stress on the quality RCA plugs...engine noise sucks.

I would not go with 10 gauge... 8 will be fine, but if you ever want to add more to your car, then I recommend shelling out for the 4 gauge. Hell, I went all out and got the 0/1 gauge, ... just in case...
