Hey there...

Years ago I had some issues with my stock stereo. It would fizzle, crackle and sound would disappear. ... then it would come back on... eventually it just went off for good.

I took it in to the dealership and they said the amp was blown and needed to be replaced. They also said that because I was 1000km over 60K I would have to pay. The dealer I used is notorious for price gouging and offering unnecessary repairs so I left it and didn't get it replaced.

Now I'm thinking of trying to fix it myself.

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue... if it actually is the amp or if there is anything else I should try first before replacing the amp.

Any help would be appreciated.
