Guessing a good amount of miles... Maybe the coils went out. Is there a way to test the units themselves?

check your connections to the coils, maybe clean them with a contact spray. definitely sounds like that is where your problem is since everything else is alright.

well i tested the wires going into the coils with a voltometer while someone cranked the engine and it read zero. So apparently theres nothing getting to the coils. I was thinking that maybe a relay went vad or something.

Tap on all the relays with the end of a screwdriver then try to start it... Let us know.

Check your fuses. There's a 10A fuse that gets power from the ignition switch and feeds it to the coils.

Fuse #1 in the diagram.

check your connection to the crank angle sensor. it's somewhere below the fuel pressure regulator. a wire harness plugs into the lower crank pulley cover. the wiring to the crank angle sensor is integrated into the lower crank pulley cover.

i checked the fuse and it is in fact blown. i replaced it and its still not starting and still no spark. A mechanic told me today that my ignition relay might have gone bad but i dont know where its at!

Is there any way to test a relay to see if its bad?

would this cause it to not have any spark?

ok i rented a OBD II reader and it said that "crankshaft position sensor A circuit malfunction". then erased the code and attempted to start it again but it didnt turn on. then i scanned it again and the same code came up. A former mechanic told me that it was probably my ECU and that i might just need to get it reflashed. Ima try to get that crankshaft position sensor first and then see what happens.

this will cause no spark because crank position tells the ecu when to fire the sparkplugs.

replace the sensor and see what happens. i highly doubt your ECU is fried.

Make sure the fuse didn't blow again. With very few exceptions, fuses bon't blow for no reason.

The relay that powers the crank position sensor is this one:

You can test it by unplugging this 3-wire connector and checking for +12v between the center wire (red/yellow) and ground when the key is ON.

Connector:

If you get voltage to that pin on the connector, the relay is good.

Well hate to open ths can of worms, but I am having the same problem. I am getting spark from one of the coils packs and not the other one. Are you getting spark at all to either? My car has been sitting in the garage for almost two weeks awaiting parts.

Bad coil? Does the problem go with the coil if you switch them?
