EBay timing belt kit????

I just wanted to see if anyone has used one of the eBay timing belt kits. They typically come with the timing belt, power steering / alternator belt, tensioner, and water pump. My timing belt is a bit past due and need to probably address it soon.

Thanks,
Jake

Well the kits are made by "gmb corporation" and the guys over at dsmtuners.com are giving it positive feedback. I'm just seeing if anyone has input.

i think (but don't quote me on it) that GMB might be an OEM supplier of tensioners and idler pulleys. it's been a while, so i'm not 100% sure.

Yeah that's what I read on dsmtuners.com. I think the kit sounds decent so I might go with it.

Did you go with the eBay kit? I'm looking at the same thing.

Haven't done it yet but I probably will. I read the "gates" belt is pretty good too. Be sure to do your water pump since you'll be in that area.

i get ALL my OEM stuff through them. prices are so good, our shop used them because it was cheaper for the customer than our vendors.
they rock, pun intended.

I personally would not use non-OEM timing parts...but that's just me...I've seen AND heard of them failing early...

"OEM equivalent" meaning not performance. my mistake.

From my research the eBay kit is made by a company that provides the oem belts to mitsubishi. The eBay kit from gmb should be the equivalent as a belt from mitsubishi.

With something as crucial as a timing belt I would not take my chances with a kit from Ebay. I am not saying it will be poor quality, I just would rather have the piece of mind with an OEM kit. I understand the need/want to save money, but I would not do it with a timing belt kit.
