modification capabilities of my 2.4l

so i have had my lancer for a while now as a run around, 06 lancer ES 2.4L (mivec) and i have decided to try and get more power out of it, just going to start off with some small cheap mods.

(i will be first to admit that i know very little to nothing about lancers, what so ever, so any help is appreciated.)

now i have been looking at cold air induction for a start, yet for the 2.4l 2006 the only thing i can find is for the ralliart lancer. there is alot available for a 06 lancer 2.0l engine, but nothing for the 06 2.4L.

now this maybe a stupid question but can a cold air intake for the ralliarts 2.4l mivec fit in a normal 2.4L mivec?

The 4G69 2.4 liter MIVEC was never used in the ES, LS, OZ rally. Either the motor is swapped or you in fact have a 2.0L. Or the other scenario is you have a 1g Ralliart.

This form is from a Mitsubishi dealer and I have another form from a mechanic that say my 4g69 is 2.4l but that's the only evidence I could find of the engine size. The vin check was a bit weird, came up with my lancer being a 2007 CS model, when it's actually 06 CH, but no engine size.

That's interesting, i thought only the VR-X had the 2.4L MIVEC, which is a slightly de-tuned version of the USDM Ralliart...so basically if you're looking for any engine mods, you'll want stuff for the 2004-2006 USDM Ralliart. the body from 04-06 is pretty much the same all over the world, except the guam/puerto rico version has a stubby front bumper. So does your ES have drum brakes in the rear and no sway bar? what's the wheel bolt pattern on it?

They are a 4 bolt by 115mm pattern, the rear and front brakes are disk brakes and it has a sway bar

so it's a mix of trim levels...cause the ralliart is 5x114, and the USDM es had drum brakes in the rear, and no rear sway bar. at least my 03 lancer ES didn't have one...i put my stock ralliart bar on it, when i got my whiteline bar for the ralliart...

So if you want to do engine modifications, you'll have better luck lurking the 04-06 Ralliart section...see you there

I've had an 03 Es 2.0L, and still have my 06 ralliart, had them both torn apart many times for one reason or another, though I've not taken the 4G94 block apart, I never had to...4G69 on the other hand, I've done disassembly, swaps, rebuilds etc.
