Header Help please!

I have an 03 Lancer OZ.

My Exhaust Manifold has a cat attached to it and it's preforming below threshold. This causes my engine light to turn on.

I need to do an emissions test soon and I will not pass with an engine light on or an engine error code.

Is there a performance Header that will give me improved horse power, and allow me to fix the engine light/cat problem that I can buy, that's cheaper than the $1600 OEM replacement?

Has anyone else had this situation? And how did you fix/improve it?

Thanks
T8

try rock-auto.com...I don't know who quoted you $1,600...they're around $350-$500...with aftermarket headers, you definitely wouldn't pass an emissions test without modification to the ECU...

The $1600 OEM replacement exhaust manifold was quoted by Mitsubishi directly

$1200 if I get a off name replacement from Part Source.

I know your pain, i'm about an hour and a half east on the 401 from you...but rockauto lists in Canadian prices, and duty/brokerage is pre-paid...never had an issue ordering from them, and I've save thousands over the years...shipping can seem a little much but the total cost shipped, still usually 1/3 what you'll pay at partsource or nappa if you pick-up in-store...it's pretty ridiculous...shipping is fairly quick, but don't expect 2 day shipping... hope that helps...
