Hello, I have a 2006 Lancer Ralliart and the steering rack is leaking pretty bad and needs to get replaced. Does anyone know if the subframe needs to be dropped to replace it or can it be removed out the side?

According to the service manual it shows to remove the exhaust and sub frame. It looks very close to be able to remove the steering rack out the side without dropping the sub frame. Has anyone here removed a steering rack without dropping the sub frame? Is it a big job to remove the sub frame?

you'll need to drop the subframe...between the front sway bar and the rear roll stopper, it's impossible to remove...without first removing all the things I just mentioned.
