Anyone have a How to Change Timing Belt - 2003 Lancer ES?
Forgive me for never have changed a timing belt, lol. Pistons are not my bag of rice... anyway I'm a rotorhead and big into RX-7s, when it comes to a rotary it's simple to me.. but I haven't messed with a timing belt before....
I was curious if anyone had a how-to for changing a timing belt on a 2003 lancer ES, I have the belt and tensioner and if anyone can point me in the right direction i'd be grateful.
Thanks,
Darren

Well, if you haven't gotten the alternator and A/C & P/S belts...get them too and do them all at the same time (water pump as well!). The replacement is straight-forward. Just take the passenger-side wheel off. Loosen the bolts/nuts off to release the alt. and A/C & P/S belts. Then grab the largest impact gun you can find; counterclockwise and go! Off comes the pulley. Take off the T-belt, unbolt the tensioner, unbolt the water pump (might need a drop bucket under there)...then reattach with the new parts/belts. Just make sure before doing anything to mark the pulley and the cam gear to make sure they don't move during the entire process.
If there are any specific questions, PM or post it up!
Good luck!
