Tint
I'm getting my windows tinted next month and I just wanted everyones opinion on what % to go for. I know the tinting laws in my area but I still want to hear everyones input on how dark or how light to go. And did anyone get their front visor tinted as well? I wasn't sure if the small black dots by the rear view mirror would make a visor tint not look appealing. Thanks in advance for the input

20% all around is nice and dark, yet functional, if it's legal in your area. I've had darker, you don't want it. I had 5% on a previous car and had to drive with the windows open at night (in residential areas) to avoid possible pedestrians.
As for the visor area, check the legality but down here in Florida it's 4" from the bottom center of the tint to the top of the windshield. The dots shouldn't be a problem for a serious tint shop. There may be a few tiny bubbles but nothing serious or noticeable. And that's coming from someone who is very obsessive about how their car looks.
The easiest way to find out the info on the front visor legality is to just go to a tint shop and ask.
EDIT: I forgot that technically Florida's tint rule is also like Toronto (as mentioned below by razo) where it is supposed to be 35% on the front sides. With things like that it depends on how leniant your state is and how friendly the tint shop is. I've been pulled over before but never for the tint, and they never mentioned it.

for me theirs no visibility issues but if u do have an 08 u might want to look into MOLESKIN protection so ur tint doesnt scratch (they are like indent lines on the windows) no one but u will notice them so its not a big deal but i think its cheap so i would recommend it..

i have 20% tint all around
in the day it’s fine…night time it looks like black gloss paint from the outside. lol
also, for ‘legal’ tint…it’s pretty much up to the cop…but if you want to play it safe, 35% and up is considered to be legal…
anyways, here’s a picture of my car with 20%:

It's all personal preference. You should consider the laws where you are and how much night driving you do since side visibility/backing up can be compromised.
Mine are 5%

honestly since PA's tint law is 70% all around its not even worth it to get any kind of tint. The cops'll know if you're illegal for sure w/o even blinking.
