Ok.. So is it a fuse or a relay? Because I know what the problem is... Relay is going off and on. but I thought it was a relay and not a fuse. Or it that black box really a fuse? Is there an other relay somewhere else?

Hello been on evom for some time just browsing and was gonna post a new thread about this of the fans of my car, i have the same problem with the fans i turn on the car and only the radiator one turns one (sometimes) and the a/c one barely turns, i went and had them tested they put electricity directly to the fans and the relay and said that the relay was fine but the fans weren't working so heres the question...

are the lancer 02 oz rally fans sold separately or do i have to buy them both joined together, ive been very insecure about buying them just because i don't know if i have to buy them together or i can buy them separately (a/c and radiator).

so can anyone tell me which one is the correct one to buy them?

Thx alot !

you can buy them separate, my car would run hot with a/c on at idle so i went to ebay and i just bought the a/c fan for $61 brand new with warranty. it has the fan, motor wires, plug and shroud, basically take the old one out and drop this one in.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT, not sure if this link will work, but just go to ebay and type in lancer radiator fan.that link is for the a/c fan.

This all makes sense now. i have an 02 ES and for about 3 years now, the fans would run as soon as i turn the key. i think the box on the radiator finally gave out because my fans quit for a little while. they turned back on after i messed with the big plug. is there a way to bypass this controller and have the fans on high full time? I know the relay in the box is good because i pulled it and they stopped but came back when i out it back. if i can bypass it do i just install a regular 4-5 pin relay and wire it to a switched power or can i hard wire the fans to the main plug?

Thanks,

Bill Z

ok so i am having a similar problem and it would be great if you guys could help me. its an 02 lancer and my fan speed only works on high which I have diagnosed as the resistor. the problem is the a/c light only comes on for the lower speeds. will replacing the resistor fix this?
