Thumbs up Lancer 06 tach install

I finally figured out how to install the tachometer on the 06 lancer DE/ES.
And i know there are a few people that are still triying to figure it out since there are no diagrams out yet , well here is how to install a small 2" tach.

First disconect the batery's negative terminal to insure no short circuits or CEL's
then go ahead and remove your glovebox ,then remove the lid covering the ECU.
you will find that the 06 ECU is way diferent from 04-05. It should look like this.

notice it has 3 plugs instead of 4 yellow ones, we're looking for the center one , the ORANGE C-58 plug.
The RPM signal pin will be the #43 thats the third pin. note (second wire ,brown/green) now just tap the green wire from you tachometer to that wire. The Red wire to the positive wire of the radio or cigarette lighter and the black one to the negative wire of eighter one or chassis ground. the white one is for DIN light you can conect it to the possitive wire or to the light switch.
Note be Sure to turn the knob on the back of you tachometer to be set to 4cil

after you set it is ready to go just run the wiring behind the radio and take it out trough between the cluster and the steering column.

then to asure a clean look mask all the wires with black electrical tape really tigh and run it between the steering column and the cluster cover and vualah

for an even cleaner look you can put the tach on a steering wheel gauge pod, is the same that evo's use. Good Luck!
