Lower Rear Tie Bar
RD Dresign's Lower Rear Tie Bar
I am offering these lower rear tie bars at $65 red or black ($70 silver or blue) shipped to the lower 48 states. CDN to add $10 in shipping.
These are designed for the 02+ OZ and the 04+ RalliArt. These also fit the ES and LS models.
This lower tie bar stiffens up the rear end and improves handling. This does not replace any factory equipment, it is a supplemental piece.
Paypal is preferred, but money orders and checks are acceptable. The item will be held until the check clears.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Installation instructions are HERE.

Answers to several questions
1. Why does the bar look pink-ish?
It was the flash on the camera that made the bar look pink. Its actually red. Its painted with professional grade automotive paint. I also have black. You can choose either color. Or if you really want custom, I can paint the bar any color you want at an additional price.
(Here is a better pic showing the color of the bar.)
2. Do you make those bars yourself?
Yes, I make them myself in my shop. They are made out of HSLA steel 1/8" thick. These are VERY strong. I have several years welding/fabrication experience, so the construction is high quality.
3. Are those powder coated?
I didn't go with powder coating for several reasons. It costs more and this part is in a place that isn't highly visable and its likely to get lots of road grime on it. If there is enough interest in powder coating, I can make it so. But I would have to charge the difference.
4. In your install writeup there are two bars. Whats the difference?
Xtreme is 1 1/2" HSLA steel with 3/4" threads.
Regular is 1" HSLA with 3/8" threads.
I figured nobody would really want the standard. But if there is interest, I would sell them for $45 shipped. I have 5 built.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here or PM me. I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner.
Thanks!
Rob

I honestly really haven't decided yet. I was thinking of going to $75 plus shipping & handling. If these move rather well, I might stick to $65 plus shipping and handling or just $75 shipped to the lower 48.
You guys are the customers. Give me some feedback and I will work with you. The customer is always right.
Thanks for your interest.

rear strut bar and a front K bar. The K bar is more for the OZ though. I think the stock one is plenty good.
I am also working on 2 secret items. I am hoping to have them out soon.

Got my rear tie bar installed today. Took me about 30 minutes, because the neighbor kid was talking to me the whole time.
My only complaint (and it's not a huge deal) is that the paint was on the threaded portion of the bar, and I had to sit there for 15 minutes, threading it in, and backing it out to get the paint off of it so I could get the holes to line up. PDX, if you read this, may I suggest for future designs, you measure out the distance between the bolts, and thread the bar in *almost* to that point before painting. It'd make install so much quicker.
Haven't taken it for a spin yet. I'll let you all know how it felt after my drive to work.
Pics coming shortly.

Well, my ride to work was pretty uneventful. I got stuck behind trucks on both the on- and off-ramps. The couple of curves I did get to take felt a little tighter in the rear end, and it seemed to track better through the corners. I wouldn't say it's a huge improvement, but every bit helps. Now I just need better rubber and thicker swaybars.
Anyway, I promised pics, so here they are:
Pics are clickable for a larger version.
First, the car without the tie bar.
Second is the front side of the bolts, with my alignment marking. Don't skip this step. Both of them moved on me when I loosened them.
Third is the tie bar, installed. Yes, I got the purple/green chameleon one.
Enjoy!
