Mitsubishi Lancer GTS 09 Best Tire Fit 225/40/18?? or 225/45/18??

Hey Guys,

I'm about to get a new set of tires for my car *(Front) I should tell that I have the original tires , but I want to put the new "Nitto Invo" I know that the car should be now with the original tires (215/45/18). Simple, My question is what would be the best tire that match with the original rims?? I wanna get best quality with tires

225/45/18???

225/40/18???

Thanks if anyone can suggest me or give me an idea about what to do...{

The Nittos are ok, but be prepared for massive amounts of road noise...they're not quiet at all.

The 225/40/18 will throw off your speedometer by about 2.5 MPH, which will be about as close to stock as you'll get. But it will look a bit off, since OEM is a 7 inch rim, your tire/rim setup will look similar to a beer gut hanging over a tight belt. 205 or 215 is the appropriate size tire for the stock rim. And you're only going to do the fronts but leave the crappy all seasons on the back...leaving you with 2 different size & type of tire? Do it right or don't do it at all.

I just bought a set of Hankook Ventus RS-2's 225/40/18. The tire rim width is 7-3/4" so you have to pinch em a little but they should fit fine. With a 40 aspect ratio, your speedometer/odometer will be 2% faster/longer that the car is actually going/traveled. I will be installing them in 2 weeks when I can get over to the base hobby shop. I was only going to use them for the track, but I just decided to go ahead and put them on.

both will fit, 225/40/18 is little bit smaller than 225/45/18, I am running 225/45/18 and my car is also lowered h&r springs I have a finger space between the fender and tires, if you need tires let me know I can hook you up, I own a car shop.thanks,

Similar question

Hey guys, just got a 2012 Lancer SE AWC and am looking to get new rims and tires. i found some 18x8 rims and am looking to match those with some 235/45ZR18 or 235/40ZR18 tires all around. I am NOT lowering the car because up here in Canada we have pretty bad winters so i want to survive that. If someone could help which tire height would be recommended then that would be great.

thanks

235-40-18; you should be fine with these without a need to roll fenders.

Hello i got a question. I have a 2012 Mazda 3 sedan and a friend gaved me 2014 lancer ralliart rims. I did my research and these rims use 215/45/18. Would that rub in my Mazda 3 and are they too heavy? Or should i buy 215/40/18 please if anyone can let me know asap!! Thanks in advance

I can only tell you they are +45 offset.
Hub-centric.
Not too heavy...

Try bolting them on - watch for rubbing (on the struts), a good secure mounting (i.e. at the hubs)...

You should ask the Mazda community what fits - i'm not sure anyone here can help...
