picks of 225 45r18 tires on stock gts rims
does anyone have any picks of 225 45r18 tires on stock gts rims, i recently put a set of nitto invos on my 08 gts with stock 18s. i went with the 225 45r 18 tires instead of 225 40r18 because all the tire calculators i could find said the 45s would be the closest to the stock tire radius and the 40s would throw my spedo out like 2 kph. anyway they are on the car now and i love the look of the slightly wider tire but im wondering if the sidewall height looks weird or too high now compaired to how it looked with the stock tires. so has anyone else put 225 45r18tires on their stock gts rims? or even nitto invos in the 225 40r18 size on stock rims to compair?
please post some picks so i can stop driving myself crazy.

They fit no problem at all tones of clearance, but I’m on stock suspension so if your lancer is lowered you might have some problems with rubbing or clearance. Here are some pix with the new tires. but im still not sure about the sidewall height, im stuck with them now but i would still like to see some comparison pix of other stock rim and aftermarket tire combos.

I ran 225/45R18 no problemo on my ralliart.
The speedo will be slightly slower than indicated by something like .6mph at 60mph (u'll actually be going 60.6 mph).
The 225/40R18 will probably be more responsive even though its off by 1.2mph the other way (at 60, you'll actually be going 58.8mph).
Personally I would go for 225/40R18's.
Slightly smaller diameter = better acceleration, better braking.
Slightly lower = lower COG, better handling.
Your engine will rev slightly higher at speed though.
None of this matters that much visually. The difference is also so small that you won't notice in pictures.
P.S. Your odometer will be affected also.

i dunno xi i still think there is a visual difference between the 45s im running now and the stock dunlops, maybe its just the style of sidewall the invos have making the tire look like it has a taller sidewall?

the speedometer is fast with the stock dunlops anyway....using my GPS the needle on my speedometer says im driving @120kph but my GPS is telling me I'm doing 117 kph only. so by getting 225/45/18 this i think will even out the speed issue..
