alright guys here goes:

after 171K my clutch started to slip... i figured it was time for a new clutch and dove in. turns out the reason the clutch was slipping is tranny oil was getting on it from a leaky input shaft seal. the reason the input shaft seal was leaking was the input shaft bearing was JUNK!... i replaced all of that and got it back together....

now after 200 miles i noticed gear oil on the ground! figures!

when filling it i made sure to only put the recomened 2.3L
when i put the input seal in i only had to press it in by hand... i was not oem

come to think of it, im afriad i only pushed the seal in flush with the housing, thats probably not right huh?

has anyone had any troubles with aftermarket input shaft seals? i believe it was "national" brand from advance auto

can anyone thing of a reason it would leak so fast?

where can i buy an OEM seal? (online preferred, its like 80 miles to the nearest mitsubishi dealer)

also on a side note: does anyone know where i can get the rubber "bushing" part that goes on the transmission shift lever... that would be the part that the cable attaches to.

I've had problems with all kinds of aftermarket seals. They never seem to fit right and when they do they're generally flimsy compared to the factory part. Probably need to pull it back apart.

Also jnztuning is my preferred source for mitsu parts.

thanks for that, im begining to think the root of my new problem is the fact that i did not get the seal into the tranny far enough... it says to countersink it 3.5mm and i never measured 3.5mm so i think that is where i went wrong... pretty sure mine is flush but i would still like to get the OEM seal
