radiator core support replacement.

The lower tie bar on my radiator core support is rusted out where the crossmember mounts to it. I was wondering if a replacement lower tie bar just bolts on or if it has to be cut and welded, or if It's just easier to do the whole core support? local collision shop quoted me at $850 , ouch!

Any help/information is greatly appreciated, and please excuse the horrible post, it is my first one. btw just bought this car and neglected to look at the core support as the rest of the underbody was flawless, I will never make that mistake again .

I cant tell if youre refering to the radiator core or if its what youre mounting the radiator itself to. Either way 850 sounds insane. Can you add some pictures? I think youre using terminology that either is incorrect or Im missing the point

I havent had lower support brackets on my rad for a really long time now...

If its the actual rad core then I would save myself the extra $700 and buy a new radiator. Try to get us some pics buddy.

I will get some pics up soon, but by core support I mean what the radiator mounts to , the part of the front frame in the front that the crossmember for the front engine mount bolts to .
