Foam Piece in OEM Air Filter Compartment

Foam Piece in OEM Air Filter Compartment

I was replacing my stock air filter and notice a gray L shape piece of foam in the intake side of the air filter compartment. Looks like the adhesive has dried off and came loose. Does anyone know where that foam piece was original glued to ?

No idea, if its loose I would just toss it. I can barely remember what a stock intake looks like though lol. As long as the filter is seated propperly it shoukdnt have any effect. But honestly I
