Blower Motor Not Working
I have a 2008 Lancer and the blower motor stopped working. I have replaced the blower motor and it still does not work.
I get 12 volts to the motor. After some research there are two other possible causes
1) Power Transistor that varies the voltage to the fan motor (previous models had a resistor pack)
2) The blower relay on the ETACS ECU
the questions I need help with are:
1) where is the ETACS ECU located and it the relay something easy to replace?
2) has anyone had / heard of a Power Transistor to the blower motor failure?
3) has anyone else had this problem?

Well, every blower motor is usually accompanied by a resistor. This steps down the voltage based on what speed you want the fan to run. This could be broken.
Your blower motor relay is in the ETACS ecu (your fuse panel inside the left front drivers kick panel)
Blower motors and the resistors are both common things to go, they run a lot and eventually wear out. If it was my vehicle I would replace both at the same time.
What you really need to be doing is getting a multimeter and measuring the pins going to the resistor and motor to be sure you are replacing the right parts. Not just throwing parts at it. Factory service manuals for the lancer are available and it has schematics included.
Before you went and replaced the motor, you should have jumped 12V and ground to it to check the function.
Also, hook up a scan tool. Is there any HVAC related codes?
You live and learn.
Good luck
I just looked at the schematic and re-read your post.
The resistor will supply ground at varied resistances. Which is also controlled by the ECU. I would replace the resistor first because it is a bit cheaper than an ECU I am sure...
