Issue with airflow meter
i recently been have my 2002 Lancer doing some crazy fuel consumption til one day it fails to start. a mechanic looked at it and told me its the airflow meter that went and i need it replaced. Whats the purpose of this meter???. Also twice while driving my car lost control whilst im in a right turn going at a decent speed, it just veer hard to the right. what might cause that????

And the right turn. Did the car shut off on you during the turn?

Exact thing happened with me this morning with the right turn sticking hard. As for the air flow check all your sensors' connections. Check both O2 sensors (clean if you can't spend to replace but be gentle). Are you also experiencing a rough idle?

I'm stumped. I change the MAF meter but if I put half tank of gas in it by a hour or so driving at regular speed, it'll be empty. So I fill it half way again and take out the air filter and I drove twenty mins without the needle moving........ I can drive without the air filter. what do I do???
