Does automatic shift box/level need to be lubricated?
Hi guys, I got a 2003 ES. So its 15 years old at this point (85k miles). This morning when pulling out I noticed a bit of resistance when shifting from P, kind of like if you rub two pieces of metal against each other. Other positions do not have those issues they are smooth as butter. Also shifting into P is smooth, its only shifting from P. To be clear there is no noise or anything like that, it just feels more resistive than usual?
All of my fluids are at correct levels and transmission (which was flushed at 60k) is pink as it should be.
I recorded a video, does this look/sound proper to you guys? -
So after 15 years do I need to like lubricate the shifter? If so, what do I use and how do I access it?
If not, then what could the problem be? I dont want to damage the shifter box by doing nothing if this is a sign of a problem or something?
Thanks!
