Opinions on this for my brother

My little brother is looking to get his first decent car. He has a truck, and is looking to trade for a Talon TSI. Here is the guys craigslist post.

I just need opinions on this, and what should we look out for?
Also, could somebody explain what " itp end clutches for it and a complete valve body with all soilinoids and translab 175 shift kit" is?

http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/4386499935.html

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Curtis

Lol... This is great. I just made an account trying to get posts and come across this.

I currently on a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi I converted 2GB TSi.

If the car is auto and it has a new used auto tranny? I would stay away from it. Most likely that car was beat. Dsms are known to get beat and owners abuse the hell out of them. Chances are if he gets a DSM he will end up braking something as they're known for breaking down a lot.

I say if he doesn't have a decent budget a DSM is not for him. Coming from someone who's fixed his DSM for ages and still trying to keep it reliable, while modding it.

We are aware, I had a 98 eclipse rs before my 8. And all the time were working on little things.

your frist mistake is looking for a car on craigslist.

secondly this whole ad reeks of stupid. auto ..really...I mean REALLY. this car is worth 900 at best.

its super hard(if not impossible) to find a TSI, you not going build from the ground up yourself.

tell your brother he will have to buy a Honda until he gets more money. just tell'em speed means nothing stance is everything, he will grow a neck beard and wear stupid glasses, but at least he wont make the mistake of buying this POS from craigslist.

Had a 95 talon tai awd. It was a love-hate relationship. Sold it for 1.5k here in Hawaii. Too much repairs needed to make it look and perform, and had too many projects at the same time. I'd say keep looking, but that's me.
